Signed by Hinton on the title page: ""S.E. Hinton/2004"". Minor edgewear with small indention and tear to front of dj near extremity of spine with light bumps to head and tail.

First edition first printing The boards and spine are bright and clean with no bumps. The spine is slightly cocked. The text block is slightly foxed but this has not spread to the internal pages. The internal pages are bright and clean, but a little browned through age.There is a small inscription to inside rear board Dust wrapper/The front cover has rubs to the corners, with two 1cm closed tears to the bottom edge. These have been taped to the back.There is a tiny chip to the bottom right hand corner. The spine hinge has minor rubs. The top and bottom edges of the spine are rubbed not affecting the title or publisher.The back cover has a minor rub and tiny chip to the bottom left hand corner , with a minor rub to the top left hand corner.The rear of the jacket has some marks not showing through. Not price cut.

With Illustrations by J. Lockwood Kipling, C.I.E. London: Macmillan and Co., 1895. 2 pp undated ads. Original blue cloth pictorially decorated in gilt, all page edges gilt. First English Edition (published three days after the American) of the sequel to THE JUNGLE BOOK, which had been published the year before. It continues with more tales of Mowgli that exemplify ""The Laws of the Jungle"" -- with illustrations by John Lockwood Kipling, Rudyard's father. This was the second of the four Kipling gift books bound similarly by Macmillan, with SOLDIER TALES and CAPTAINS COURAGEOUS coming out the following two years respectively. This is an attractive, near-fine copy (volume slightly askew, spine gilt less than bright, but no foxing and essentially no wear); the front flyleaf bears an inked ""Xmas 1895"" signature. Charles Ives, 1922. This is a first edition, second impression, of 114 Songs, a book of sheet music, by Charles Ives in its original blue cloth cover lettered in gilt. It has pp37-39 printed. Affixed to inside of the front cover is a 7x11 cm piece of paper with Ive's ink inscription, clipped from an unrelated item: ""C. E. I. Christmas. 1929 164 East 74th St. NY."" The first impression was only 500 copies, which Ives distributed privately. This second impression was consisted of a reported 1000 copies intended, again, for private distribution, and included additional music not included in the first impression. The book is in near fine condition with very minimal wear.
